WORLD DAY FOR RESPONSIBLE TOURISM

8TH SKÅL INTERNATIONAL ECOTOURISM AWARDS

A reminder that 30th June 2009 is the deadline for receipt of entries for the 8th Skål International Ecotourism Awards. The results of the awards will be announced during the Opening Ceremony of the 70th Skål World Congress in Budapest on 2nd November 2009. All Clubs worldwide are encouraged to find entries from their region for the awards.

 

TRAVEL WITH THE PRESIDENT

President Hulya Aslantas recently attended a number of the Area Committee Congresses, including North American Area in Anchorage, Alaska, the Asian Area Assembly in Incheon, Korea and the Latin American Area Congress in Lima, Peru as well as visits to other Clubs along the way. You can keep up to date with the President by visiting “President’s Journey” on the Skål International website or by clicking here.

SKÅL DIRECTORY

The printed version of the Skål Directory will shortly go to print. Those Clubs and National Committees who have not sent in their Form 2 or Form 3 with the up-to-date list of officers will appear in the directory with the last known information. Please ask your Club if it has sent this information to the General Secretariat.

JEFFERIE TIPPEN ONZM

Skål International Christchurch Skålleague, Jefferie Tippen, has been admitted as an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the recent Queens Birthday Honours List. Jefferie has recently finished his term as International Councillor for New Zealand. We send Jefferie our sincere congratulations and very best wishes on receiving this distinction, honouring his long service to the Tourism Industry in New Zealand.
