Skål International Newsletter February 2007
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
President Litsa Papathanassi promotes the idea of a Skål Cultural and Art Exhibition during the 68th Skål World Congress in Antalya. Apart from the usual entertainment during the Opening Ceremony, Get-Together, Dine Around, Gala Dinner and Farewell Party, through which we will experience the tradition and culture of the host city and country, the organisers are asking us to unfold our artistic abilities in the form of a “Talent Night Show.” Dancing, singing and music from talented Skålleagues will prove that we are not only good professionals in tourism but we are also able to express ourselves through art. NEW SEVEN WONDERS OF THE WORLD
During a special Skål luncheon, held at FITUR and attended by more than 80 Skål members and friends, Skål International Spain conferred the “Importante del Turismo” on Bernard Weber, filmmaker, museum curator, aviator, explorer and founder of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Receiving the award on behalf of Mr. Weber is Jean Paul de la Fuente, Director, N7W Foundation. Twenty-one wonders have already been selected worldwide and the public will be asked to vote between now and 7 July 2007 to select the seven new wonders of the world from the 21 selected. On 070707 (7 July 2007) the seven new wonders will be announced at a ceremony to take place in Lisbon, Portugal.
