68th SKÅL WORLD CONGRESS – ANTALYA 2007
Preparations for the 68 th Skål World Congress which will be held in Antalya, Turkey from 4 to 9 November 2007 are well under way and details are now on the Skål International website. The website will be frequently updated so please check on a regular basis. The cost of the congress is very affordable at only US$1,590 per double or US$150.00 per day (Equivalent Euro 122.00 (exchange rate of 9th January 2007). With the favourable exchange rate this is a very good time to make your reservation. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
The Executive Committee of Skål International will meet in the home town of International President, Litsa Papathanassi on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 January 2007.
BIT MILAN
Skål is the largest association of travel and tourism professionals in the world, covering all facets of the industry. The President of Skål International, Litsa Papathanassi has chosen the theme of “Sustainable Development in Tourism” and In line with this theme, a special seminar will be held in Milan, Italy on Saturday 24 February 2007 during BIT Milan. The seminar is being organised jointly by Skål International and Skål International Italy. The seminar will open with addresses by Litsa Papathanassi, President of Skål International and Sandra Biasutti, President, Skål International Italy. There will be two keynote speakers, Eugenio Yunis, Director of Sustainable Development in Tourism, United Nation s World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and Stefanos Fotiou, Programme Officer, Tourism Implementation Unit, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). A number of examples of best practices in Italy, Spain, Turkey, Croatia and Greece will also be given and there will be a question and answer session. ASEAN TOURISM FORUM
Singapore will host the Asean Tourism Forum 2007 from 26 January to 3 February 2007. As we will be expecting visiting Skålleagues from all over the world, our Executive Committee has decided to postpone our monthly luncheon from our usual last Thursday of the month to Tuesday 30 January 2007. NATIONAL AND AREA CONGRESSES
The first quarter of year is a busy time for National and Area Committees which are required to hold their Annual General Meetings prior to 31 March. This year you will find many interesting locations listed on the Skål International website www.skal.org go to Congresses and then to National and Area Committees.

ANNUAL OBLIGATIONS
The annual fee for 2007 is Euro 34.00 per member (Euro 10.00 for Young Skål members). The deadline for receipt of fees at the General Secretariat is 28 February. Fees arriving after that date may be subject to a late penalty. It is imperative that a current list of members is forwarded with the payment so that the membership can be updated and a credit issued for those persons who are no longer members. Form 2 for Clubs and Form 3 for National and Area Committees detailing the officers for the current year must reach the General Secretariat by 13 April 2007. Membership lists and all forms can be submitted through the Skål International website www.skal.org go to Forms.
